3 Ways to Save (or Make) Money through Feng Shui

Flourishing with Feng Shui

You've probably heard about people who have so much money that no matter how much they spend, they will never out-spend their worth.  Well, that is what we're going to work towards here.  Dedication and belief  will allow the energy of Feng Shui and the power of the Law of Attraction to escalate your wealth.

There have been many books and articles written about Feng Shui and the Law of Attraction.  We are going to concentrate on Feng Shui today.  It's such an allusive thing; talking about energy and the placement of certain things throughout the house or office.  Let me see if I can help make sense of it without being too esoteric.

I like to think of Feng Shui as a harmonious balance.  I've been decorating my homes with Feng Shui for over 12 years.  Have you ever walked into a beautiful room and felt afraid to touch something for fear it would be wrong?  Or walk into a store or business front and have the feeling that you need to leave as quickly as possible?  Here is another example, an expensive room beautifully decorated with antiques and precious fineries, and you want to spend all day regardless of the price tag or the fear of breaking something.  The difference is this last room is in balance.

Maggie Lee says that "Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art and science of balance. Literally meaning "wind-water," Feng Shui concentrates on the flow of positive energy from space to space, allowing life to be harmonious and conducive to productivity and happiness."

Harmony is a clutter-free home.  Feng Shui need not be expensive.  In fact, it can save you money.  Do you remember moving into your last home or apartment and the chaos you felt having boxes everywhere?  These boxes, like clutter, block the flow of energy throughout the room just as it impedes your physical progress through a room.

How does this translate into saving or making more money through Feng Shui?

Initially, focus on eliminating clutter through holding garage sales, listing items on Craigslist, or consigning your clothing, artwork, and furniture is a quick source of income.  Then, whatever doesn't sell, try donating (which doesn't bring in income but might help come tax time - check with your tax consultant).

If you're having trouble starting your de-cluttering, try taking the 7-7-7 Challenge.  The basic concept is to remove 1 item per day for 7 consecutive days.  Then repeat this for 7 months.  The items can be individual pieces or you might consider filling a grocery bag and calling it one collective item.  Either way works, and the outcome is a slow and deliberate process that doesn't shock the psyche.

When we think of money or wealth, we also need to consider gratitude.  Life is too precious to concentrate solely on money or skimming through life.  By "skimming", I mean that sometimes more is not necessarily better.  Let's say you have one car and keep it on a regular maintenance schedule.  It is such a joy that you think another car and maybe a motorcycle will make life even better.  Now, what might happen is that over time both cars and motorcycle will start to show some neglect.  Not that you don't care for them but the time you used to allocate to one car is now divided amongst the three vehicles.  In addition to the time required, the second car and motorcycle are costing you additional money for upkeep and insurance.

Here are 3 ways to increase your wealth and prosperity.

  • Feng Shui requires organization and cleanliness for the energy (think of energy as air flow) to move freely throughout your home or office.  When cleaning, at first, every nook and cranny needs to be dealt with.
    • Remove everything from under the bed, clear out the closets, get rid of anything that is broken and you haven't repaired.
    • Donate or sell items you are no longer using that are still in good shape.
  • Now that your house or office is nice and clean, try adding a plant.  Isn't there a saying that "money doesn't grow on trees"?  Well, maybe not, but when we think of money we often picture a beautiful, large, full tree.

    • Real plants will require your time and effort to flourish.  Tending your plants will physically and hopefully mentally take you away from your desk or project allowing you time to meditate or at least relax for a few minutes.  After all, isn't making money worth the extra effort?
    • Silk plants will work great if the surrounding environment does not provide what real plants need, i.e., sunlight.  Remember to keep them clean and dust free.

  • Nice things say, "I'm a success" quicker than anything else.  Nice does not have to mean expensive.  Nice does mean that things are clean and in good working condition.
    • If something is not working, immediately get it fixed or replace it as quickly as possible.
    • Like begets Like.  That means that when things are in good working order, most likely you will feel relaxed, creative, and in turn just might make more money.
In conclusion, remember that positive energy is much more prolific and productive in a clean and organized environment.  Keep your furniture dusted, equipment in good working order, and your plants healthy (or at least clean if they're silk).  You worked hard to get to this position, allow that hard work to now work for you.

Allowing Feng Shui to be a part of your financial success can help in opening you up to accepting new income sources that you may not have considered before.  The same energy that can help with your financial well-being can also help improve other aspects of your life such as marriage, fame, and friends.

You are already a very wealthy person.  Wealth comes in many forms and money is a small part.  Remember that wealth is all that you hold dear; your family, friends, and health.
