Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask - Product Review

ADOVIA Mineral Skin Care Purifying Mud Mask
Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask - Purifying Natural Facial Mask and Skin Care Treatment for Women, Men and Teens

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I haven't had the opportunity to use this purifying mud mask for a full 30 days but was so excited with my immediate results that I had to share. I received my Adovia Purifying Mud Mask with Pure Dead Sea Mud through Amazon from Cleopatra's Choice.

"This Dead Sea Mud Mask contains 30 Treatments which lasts for 3-4 Months. Each treatment provides the ingredients and results of a $120 facial at a high end dermatology spa! Made with Pure Dead Sea Mud with the highest concentration of minerals - vital for facial skin treatment glow. This mask is made in Israel - by the Dead Sea experts and contains the highest and freshest concentration of Dead Sea Mud. Reduce Oil and Blackheads and get more clear and radiant skin. Works great for Eczema and Psoriasis as well due to Dead Sea salt and mud known properties that help relieve Eczema, Psoriasis and acne symptoms. Apply a layer to clean, dry skin once per week or as needed, as a facial mask for the whole face or as spot treatment for blackheads or pimples." - Adovia
In my own words, though, the mud has a pleasant scent, is non drying or cracking, and left my face feeling soft and moist.  Moist, not greasy.  One might say, "She has a dewy complexion."  Seriously though, the mud was easy to apply, left my skin feeling soft and not dried out.  I felt so pampered.

The first time I tried the mud, it was very clinical.  I had the lights on bright, noted how the mud felt as it was on my face, wondering if my face would be red afterwards, and questioned how easy it was to remove.  To my utter delight, the mud felt silky, no skin reactions of any kind, and it came off super easy.

Each time since, I've actually pampered myself with with an in-home spa treatment.  Relaxed with some music, candles, painted my toes, the whole works.

I mentioned receiving my product through Amazon, which you may by now know is easy to purchase items and I've always felt safe ordering anything from Amazon.  My experience with my specific order is where I need to explain how great Cleopatra's Choice is.  Have you ever heard of Cleopatra's Choice?  I hadn't until given this opportunity and am so genuinely pleased.  I was supposed to order my item to review (this fantastic mud mask) through Amazon but actually missed my deadline to use the code given.  I sent an email to Cleopatra's Choice thinking that they really had no reason to respond since I was the one who missed the deadline.  Not only did I hear from them but they worked with me to receive my mud mask within three-days time.  How amazing is that?!

I look forward to trying more items from Adovia, ordering through Amazon and of course going through Cleopatra's Choice.  There are so many products on the market today that promise everything but I have peace of mind knowing that Adovia Mineral Skin Care products are made "without synthetic and harsh chemicals to the body."

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Jane Green's "Tempting Fate" Tea Party

#JaneGreenParty Tempting Fate #HousePartyFun

Twining's Orange & Cinnamon Spice Herbal TeaTwining's Chai French Vanilla Herbal Tea
If you've been tasked with hosting a party, consider an afternoon tea for your next birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, Mother’s Day, or a girls get-together.  An afternoon tea consists of tea and a light meal between the hours of 3 and 5pm and is perfect for a group of 6 to 10 ladies.

Did you know there is a difference between an afternoon tea and a high tea?  An afternoon tea offers tea and light food to stave off hunger between lunch and dinner.  A high tea is usually served around dinner time and is considered a working person's meal with meat or a heavier main dish.
Jane Green's "Tempting Fate" Tea Party
In the United States we often think of an afternoon tea as a pretty big deal.  In fact, if we were to go to a tea house or out for an afternoon tea, we would usually be looking at around $30 or more.  You don't need to spend that kind of money if you host your own.  Bring out your china or use a mix and match setting of china to add to the charm.  If you don't have a china set, ask each lady if they would please provide their own tea cup and saucer.

For your menu, serve sandwiches sliced as little soldiers or in triangular shapes with the crust removed, quick breads or muffins, pastries, and a selection of teas is all you need for the perfect tea party.

Menu

Scones - Plain and Gluten-Free Raisin
Pastries
Strawberry Preserves
Clotted Cream - Vegan "Clotted Cream"

Lemon Curd - Vegan
Tea Sandwiches - Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, Vegetarian, Cucumber
Tea - variety served with sugar, milk, or lemon

Notes:

  • Tea is served with milk and never cream.  If a guest takes milk in her tea be sure to not offer her lemon - that is, unless she likes a curdled tea.
  • The preserves, clotted cream, and lemon curd is served with the scones or quick breads.
  • I used two tea pots of hot water and offered a variety of herbal teas in bags.
  • You can purchase everything for a tea but with a little preparation it's quite easy to make.
  • A simple presentation is all that is needed because the food and china will take center stage.
  • If you're going to make your food, prepare the sandwich fillings the day before and assemble just before the party.  The lemon curd, clotted cream and sugar cubes can also be made the day before.
  • Creating a menu that will work with various diets is quite easy with a tea party.  This party offered eggless, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free foods.

Other Afternoon Tea Menu Ideas  - Smoked Salmon sandwiches, Barbecue Salmon Salad, Quiche, Fresh Fruit, Fruit Tarts, Lemon Cookies, Macaroons, Banana Bread, Devonshire Cream

This tea party was sponsored by Jane Green's publishing house St. Martin's Press, Twinings of London Tea, and Salem Baking Company.  Through the generosity of our sponsors, each guest received one of Jane Green's books.

There aren't many things that pair so well as friends, tea, food, and a good book.

A Heartfelt Poem about a Parent's Love

Thank you, dear readers, for sending us thoughtful emails such as this one below.

I believe in angels and that once a parent, always a parent.

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile
They said had run the light
That caused the six-car pileup.

When broken bodies lay about
And blood was everywhere,
The sirens screamed out eulogies,
For death was in the air.

A mother, trapped inside her car,
Was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air:
Oh, God, please spare my boys!
She fought to loose her pinned hands;
She struggled to get free,
But mangled metal held her fast
In grim captivity.

Her frightened eyes then focused
On where the back seat once had been,
But all she saw was broken glass and
Two children's seats crushed in.

Her twins were nowhere to be seen;
She did not hear them cry,
And then she prayed they'd been thrown free,
Oh, God, don't let them die!

Then firemen came and cut her loose,
But when they searched the back,
They found therein no little boys,
But the seat belts were intact.

They thought the woman had gone mad
And was traveling alone,
But when they turned to question her,
They discovered she was gone.

Policemen saw her running wild
And screaming above the noise
In beseeching supplication,
Please help me find my boys!
They're four years old and wear blue shirts;
Their jeans are blue to match.

One cop spoke up, They're in my car,
And they don't have a scratch.
They said their daddy put them there
And gave them each a cone,
Then told them both to wait for Mom
To come and take them home.

I've searched the area high and low,
But I can't find their dad.
He must have fled the scene,
I guess, and that is very bad.

The mother hugged the twins and said,
While wiping at a tear,
He could not flee the scene, you see,
For he's been dead a year.
The cop just looked confused and asked,
Now, how can that be true?
The boys said, Mommy, Daddy came
And left a kiss for you.

He told us not to worry
And that you would be all right,
And then he put us in this car with
The pretty, flashing light.

We wanted him to stay with us,
Because we miss him so,
But Mommy, he just hugged us tight
And said he had to go.

He said someday we'd understand
And told us not to fuss,
And he said to tell you, Mommy,
He's watching over us.
The mother knew without a doubt
That what they spoke was true,
For she recalled their dad's last words,
I will watch over you.
The fireman's notes could not explain
The twisted, mangled car,
And how the three of them escaped
Without a single scar.

But on the cop's report was scribe,
In print so very fine,
An angel walked the beat tonight on Highway 109.

****************
He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare.

****************
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and He asked: 'My child, what is your greatest wish for today?'

I responded: 'Lord please, take care of the person who is reading this message, their family and their special friends. They deserve it and I love them very much.'
Did you get goosebumps reading the poem too?  Have you ever had an angel visit you or unable to explain something other than it had to be an angel?

Book Club Reading Selection for May 2014

May seems to be one of those in-between months.  It doesn't really have the freshness of spring and it isn't the month of brides but it is a magical month nonetheless.  Did you know that "Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan." "Maius has always had 31 days." Want to learn more about May and other months? Visit Crowl.org.
Looking at the book selections for this month's reading, and I noticed they all have a couple things in common.  Each book has strong female characters, talks of food, and has a death.  Can you find other similarities?
To begin our reading it only seems fair that a cat or in this case cats lead the way.  Tatania and Zeus, the magical cats, allow humans Grace and Jack to join them in solving mysteries throughout the 1920s.

If you've ever been in a relationship, married, or have had the privilege of having children then you will know understand the stages of this couple's relationship.  Is married life the ultimate romance?

Joanna Campbell Slan does it again in this quick read.  Not only does she provide a fun story but she includes a recipe for healthy, homemade dog treats and a craft.

Retired school teacher, Myrtle Clover is beside herself when her book club decides to become a dinner club.  Elizabeth Spann Craig serves up a dinner with a side of murder.

An interesting mix of reading this month.  Not sure there's a theme but perhaps that's the magic and mystery the month of May brings us.  Oh my goodness, speaking of magic, how are your flowers and garden growing?
